Museum Happenings | October – December 2025
October has been a month of meaningful moments and community connection at The Florida Holocaust Museum, and we’re proud to share some recent highlights from our work and programs.
School Tours Return to The FHM: Last week, we welcomed our first student group into our Re-Imagined space! Students from Ridgecrest Elementary engaged in thoughtful discussions and went on a docent-led tour of The Museum.
Spreading The Butterfly Effect: This event was created and led by Gabbie as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award initiative, which aims to raise awareness about bullying and antisemitism through age-appropriate learning and activities. During the event, kids explored the history of the Holocaust, discussed the roots and impact of antisemitism, and learned how to be upstanders in their communities. After the program, families visited The FHM’s new butterfly garden.
Anniversary of The Danish Rescue: This month marks the anniversary of the Danish Rescue. 82 years ago, thousands of ordinary Danes came together to save their Jewish neighbors, transporting Denmark’s Jewish population to neutral Sweden aboard fishing boats. The Danish Rescue of October 1943 saved more than 7,200 Jews and 500 other refugees, often hidden below deck or beneath fish.
Member Appreciation Month: We appreciate our Members all year long, but October is special. It’s Member Appreciation Month at The FHM. A time for us to celebrate the individuals and families who help make our mission possible every day.
