Teaching Trunk Resources for Grades 1-4

The Florida Holocaust Museum’s video lesson features content from our 1st-4th grade Teaching Trunks that focus on the themes of “Different and the Same” and “Creating Community.” Yara Lugo, The FHM’s Museum Educator, discusses how through character education we can educate young people about the concepts of mutual respect, fairness, identity, community, inclusion and how to respond to prejudice. She presents examples of videos and books about standing up to racism, antisemitism, and other forms of hatred. Under the guidance of educators, these resources can help young people understand moral and ethical behavior as they are building their own system of values. Our Teaching Trunks are shipped free of charge to schools and The FHM educators are ready to assist teachers with choosing the most appropriate content for their curriculum.
