“Quick, get out the rain buckets!” These words are urgently spoken entirely too often inside of The Florida Holocaust Museum.

Our leaking roof has been patched an innumerable amount of times and has produced short-lived results. Summer is quickly approaching, along with Florida’s torrential summer rain, and having a solid roof over head is crucial. We have officially run out of patches and are running out of time. Our roof is in serious distress and in need of a permanent fix.

We are still in need of $30,000 to afford this very costly replacement. While the entire cost to replace the roof is $110,000, we are asking the public for help in raising $30,000 toward this vital necessity.

We are so proud to have accomplished so much this year by enabling Museum visitors to learn about past genocides and human rights issues through engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and eye-witness accounts from Holocaust Survivors. Every day we see the impact and importance of our mission reflected in the eyes of those who pass through our Museum doors. Although we touch more than 150,000 people annually, our daily headlines prove that there continues to be an ongoing need to educate this generation as well as future generations about the dangers of hatred and discrimination which led to the Holocaust.

This year alone we have:

  • Welcomed over 10,000 students to tour the Museum and talk with a Survivor.
  • Trained over 1,000 Florida police officers through the Law Enforcement and Society: Lessons of the Holocaust program.
  • Raised public awareness to hundreds of people about current and past genocides through the Genocide and Human Rights Awareness Movement.

We would not be able to accomplish very much without having a roof over head.
