The FHM Announces Partnership with the Pinellas and Hillsborough Public Library Cooperatives

The Florida Holocaust Museum (The FHM) has partnered with the Pinellas and Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperatives to offer free admission to the Museum!

This exciting new partnership allows for Pinellas and Hillsborough library cardholders to check out a museum pass to visit The Florida Holocaust Museum. One of only three accredited Holocaust museums in the United States, The FHM’s mission is to honor the memory of the millions of lives who suffered and were lost in the Holocaust. Visitors to The FHM will find three floors of temporary and permanent exhibitions with original artifacts, photographs, art, and documents, with a special emphasis on local Holocaust Survivors.

Since launching earlier this year, this partnership with the Pinellas and Hillsborough Public Library Cooperatives have allowed for all members of the community to visit The Florida Holocaust Museum, some who otherwise, may not have had the opportunity to do so.

“About a month ago, a homeless woman come into the Museum. She explained that she had walked past The FHM almost daily and had never been given the opportunity to view our exhibitions until today, because of the Museum’s partnership with the Pinellas and Hillsborough Public Library Systems,” said Sara McDonald, The FHM’s Admissions and Store Manager. “She was very excited to see the Operation Finale exhibition and was even more excited that it came here from New York City exclaiming that, ‘this will be the closest I get to seeing the big city.’ After viewing the exhibition, she spoke with Museum staff about how horrible the atrocities were and how the court room set up really made her feel like she was there.”

The Pinellas Public Library Cooperative (PPLC) is currently offering free family admission to The Florida Holocaust Museum with the checkout of a museum pass from participating Pinellas County libraries. The PPLC member library and its branches will have two museum passes, each and passes are available for checkout on a first-come, first-served basis. You may check the availability of passes on the PPLC online catalog or by contacting your local library.
