Cuba’s Forgotten Jewels: A Haven in Havana

February 14, 2019 @ 4:15 pm - 6:00 pm

Cuba’s Forgotten Jewels: A Haven in Havana
February 14th at 4:15pm at USF St. Petersburg, Kate Tiedemann College of Business Auditorium
In partnership with the St. Petersburg Conference on World Affairs and generously supported by the Jack Chester Foundation

This film explores the little known story of the Jewish refugees who escaped Nazi-occupied Europe and found a safe haven on the Caribbean island of Cuba. Marion Kreith escaped war torn Europe as a young girl with her family, evading Nazi capture and crossing the Atlantic to a tropical paradise. In this film, her story mingles with the personal accounts of other refugees who recall their escape to Havana and the challenges they face in an exotic and unfamiliar land.

Complimentary parking at Mahaffey Theater.
