Forbidden Music—Works Banned by the Nazis
November 8, 2015 at 3 pm
Ferguson Hall at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts
1010 N Macinnes Pl, Tampa, FL
Jewish instrumentalists and composers were at the very center of music performed in Germany in the 1930s, but as the Third Reich was rising, their music became increasingly isolated, and ultimately banned. In a partnership with The Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg, Sarasota Opera will present this concert of music by composers who were banned by the Nazis during World War II.
