Legacy and Remembrance: Panel discussion with special guests Alex and David Graham

August 19, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$9.00

Panel discussion with special guests David and Alex Graham, sons of iconic rock & roll promoter Bill Graham. Life lessons that are conveyed by parents and grandparents have profound effect. When those patriarchs and matriarchs endured the Holocaust, those lessons and their legacy have special resonance.

David Graham was born in San Francisco in 1968 to Bonnie MacLean, artist, and Bill Graham, rock impresario. Throughout his formative years, David spent time with his father touring with artists such as Santana, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones. In 1990, David graduated from Columbia University in New York City. During college, he formed a management company, Music Unlimited, representing artists such as Blues Traveler. Now semi-retired from the music industry, David currently serves on the board of the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.

After growing up in rock & roll and moving to New York City at the age of 21, Alex Graham channeled his passion for music into a career, as both an artist and an entrepreneur. An active DJ for the past 25 years on the club and festival circuit, he also traveled the world as the tour DJ for Jane’s Addiction and Lollapalooza. In 2015, Alex co-founded PurpleSound, a Brooklyn-based audio services company that provides innovative solutions for on-site installations and event production.

David and Alex Graham are committed to properly memorializing the legacy of their father. Both longtime board members of the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation, the two brothers organized the family archive that would go on to form the basis of the exhibition Bill Graham and the Rock & Roll Revolution. They are also Executive Producers of a feature-film biopic, based on the biography Bill Graham Presents: My Life Inside Rock and Out (currently in development).

$9 per person for general admission and/or free for Museum members. Please RSVP by calling 727.820.0100 ext. 301. RSVP is required.
