Trolley Tour of the African American Heritage Trail
Saturday, November 23 at 10:00 a.m.
Tour the neighborhoods of 22nd Street South and 9th Avenue South and have a glimpse into the varied culture of the historic St. Petersburg’s African American community.
Along 22nd Street South the tour focuses on the rich cultural heritage of the neighborhood, community leaders, landmark businesses and the evolution from the Jim Crow era to desegregation and the Civil Rights Movement.
On the 9th Avenue South trail discover the more personal aspects of life in the community and learn more about its schools, housing, community organizations and churches that enriched the social fabric of the neighborhood.
