Become a Docent at The FHM
Docents are an essential part of The Florida Holocaust Museum’s mission. As a docent, you will guide visitors through powerful exhibitions, share stories that illuminate history, and foster meaningful dialogue that inspires reflection and hope.
Joining our docent program is more than volunteering—it’s becoming part of a community dedicated to history and education.
Why Become a Docent?
Docents play a vital role in shaping the visitor experience. By leading tours and engaging with guests of all ages, you help bring factual history to life through your storytelling and discussions.
At the same time you are encouraging visitors to reflect on the lessons of the Holocaust, their relevance today, and inspire the next generation.
What Docents Do
Being a docent at The Florida Holocaust Museum is one of the most remarkable experiences. You will have a unique opportunity to work with Holocaust Survivors and carry their message to the next generations. Docents work with students of different age groups (5th grade and up) and help us translate the lessons of the Holocaust into today. You will also have a chance to meet artists and guest speakers at programs designed just for docents.
