Docent Application

The Florida Holocaust Museum is now taking applications for our 2024 Docent Class. Docents are responsible for leading student and adult tours through our core exhibition and our various art exhibitions. The Museum will provide the core training during the Docent Class and additional continuing education sessions pertaining to new exhibitions.

You need to attend all the sessions in order to complete the course. The class cost is $50.00 (non-refundable).

All docents will undergo a background check, unless they are a current volunteer at The Florida Holocaust Museum and have completed one previously. The cost of the background check is $15.89.

This program is for individuals who are ready to become active docents – there is no option to just audit the class.

At the end of the class, you will go through an assessment tour with a museum educator. Docents are expected to give a minimum of one tour (approximately 1.5 hours) per week throughout the duration of their commitment to the Museum, which we would like to be long term.

Tours are offered between 9 AM and 3 PM, Monday to Friday. An average tour takes 2 hours. Are you able to commit to docenting groups during that time window on weekdays?(Required)
