The Florida Holocaust Museum is now taking applications for our 2026 Docent Class. Docents are responsible for leading student and adult tours through our core exhibition and our various art exhibitions. The Museum will provide the core training during the Docent Class and additional continuing education sessions pertaining to new exhibitions.
Docent class sessions will be held in the fall of 2026 at The Florida Holocaust Museum. Sessions will take place on 5 weekdays in October and November 2026, with exact dates to be announced. You need to attend all five sessions in order to complete the course. The class cost is $50.00 (non-refundable).
All docents will undergo a background check, unless they are a current volunteer at The Florida Holocaust Museum and have completed one previously. Docents will need to cover the cost of the background check.
This program is for individuals who are ready to become active docents – there is no option to just audit the class.
At the end of the class, you will go through an assessment tour with a Museum educator. Docents are expected to give a minimum of one tour (approximately 2 hours) per week.
